Slideshow from JASGA’s Japanese Taiko & Dance Performance

On Thursday, March 24th, 2011, the Japan-America Society of Greater Austin (JASGA) hosted a Japanese Taiko & Dance Performance at the Austin Asian-American Cultural Center. The featured performer of the evening was Chieko Kojima of the world-famous Kodo, with additional performances by Austin Japanese dance group Hanabira and Austin Taiko. Proceeds from the night’s performance went to the Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Relief Fund, which was created in response to the catastrophic earthquake and tsunami that struck Japan on March 11th, 2011. Funds will go to relief efforts in the Tohoku area of Japan.
