Toshie Suzuki at the Tsugaru Shamisen Concert

Last night, Toshie Suzuki, a championship player of the Tsugaru Shamisen, performed at Casa de Luz in Austin. Well over 100 people showed up for the event, which is great. That just shows how interested Austinites are in Japanese culture, from anime and manga to the unique sounds of the Tsugaru shamisen.

I have about 70 minutes of video to go through tonight and tomorrow, but I should be posting some videos to my account on Vimeo this weekend so that you too can enjoy Suzuki-san’s performance.
